Rapidfire in Whitewater

July 4, 2010 at 10:19 pm (Uncategorized)

Today we took some of the first production Rapidfires out onto a class 2-3 section of whitewater.

First off, the final board is a significant improvement over the original glass proto. I’ve put a series of inverted channels into the bottom that significantly help with tracking, so it can be paddled without a fin. This is really practical on shallow rivers and running slides, boofing drops, etc. Andreanne and I both paddled finless, Christine used the stock 6″ rubber fin. Each to their own and both methods work fine, but I was unable to paddle the glass proto effectively finless, so this is great news.

The board is awesome on Whitewater and is light years ahead of any other board I’ve tried, regardless of brand. It just makes it all so… well… so easy! This was Andreannes first time trying Whitewater and she smoked the whole class three section. So here are some photos of the day… 30C weather, warm water and good vibes!
